Oussama Ahrazem is an INCRECYT Programme researcher assigned to the Botanical Institute (Albacete) since 2012. He got his PhD in biological sciences from the Complutense University of Madrid (UCM). In 1998, he obtained a postdoctoral fellowship at the Center for Biological Research (CIB, CSIC) to work in chemistry of polysaccharides from fungi and in characterizing pneumococcal lytic enzymes. In 2003, he joined the Higher Technical School of Agricultural Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ETSIA, UPM) where he worked on the characterization and cloning of citrus allergens. In 2007 he joined the University of Castilla-La Mancha as Ramon y Cajal researcher to work on different projects related to saffron.
