Summary

Pablo Ferrandis is currently the General Director of the Botanic Garden of Castilla-La Mancha. This Full Professor at the University of Castilla-La Mancha received a Ph.D. degree in Plant Ecology from the University of Murcia in 1996. During the following five years, P. Ferrandis occupied research positions at the Agricultural and Environmental Research Centre in Albadalejito (Permanent Scientific Researcher), and the University of Castilla-La Mancha (Research Fellow, Assistant Professor). His research work is mainly focused on plant community and population ecology, seed-germination ecology, and plant conservation biology. Pablo Ferrandis has done research stays in the Centre of Functional and Evolutive Ecology (CNRS; France) and the Institute of Evolution and Ecology of the University of Tübingen (Germany). Others research institutions which Pablo Ferrandis has actively collaborated with are: the University of Kentucky (USA), the Rey Juan Carlos University (Madrid), and the Centre de Recerca Ecològica i Aplicacions Forestals (Barcelona). Currently, he is occupied as the research coordinator of the Biological Plant Conservation and Plant Ecology Section at the Botanical Institute and the head of Plant Production and Agricultural Technology Department at the University of Castilla-La Mancha. He has four 6-year periods on research work (sexenios) recognized by the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities.
