She <\/span><span class=\"s2\">received her PhD degree in Chemistry from the University of Murcia (Spain) in 1990. Since January 1986 she is a member of the Physical Chemistry Department at the University of Castilla-La Mancha.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s2\">She has worked nearly 30 years in Enzymology, both experimentally and theoretically. She is the person in charge of the Physical Chemistry lab in the School of Industrial Engineering (Albacete) at the University of Castilla-La Mancha since that time. She has studied the kinetics of a number of enzymes and in recent years her research interests have been focused on new applications of enzymes, including substrate cycling, optical and amperometric biosensors, peroxidases for industrial wastewaters treatment, etc. All this research activity has been performed, in a continuous way, in collaboration with other research groups from other universities or research institutes. This multidisciplinary collaboration has resulted in the publication of 73 original articles in scientific journals of high impact index (<i>h<\/i>-index 17), conferences (national (40) and international (48)), and pretty recently 1 chapter in a book (Ed. Springer). As PI, Prof. Valero has been awarded with 6 research projects from JCCM (Spain), co-financed with FEDER founds, with a total budget of \u20ac 331,647. More recently, the project presented by Prof. Valero in 2013 Spanish Call for Projects R &amp; D Excellence was chosen for funding, with \u20ac 108,000. She has also participated in other projects of national and international level. She has reviewed more than 100 articles in a great variety of scientific journals. At international level, she has worked in collaboration with a number of researchers from different universities, including the University of Kiel (Kiel, Germany), the University of the West of England (Bristol, UK), Cardiff University (Cardiff, UK) and more recently she has started a collaboration with a group from Oxford University (Oxford, UK).
